|#31DC2015 Day 1: Red Nails|
It's day one of the 31 Day Challenge and I've gotten off to an...interesting start. Red. Just a simple red, understated, simplistic, minimalist design. That's what I was going for, but when I grabbed for my Mundo de Unas stamping polishes, and a stamping plate, all hopes for a simple pattern went awry. I kinda went crazy. Orange, purple and pink flowers, gold accent...whew. Here's what I used.
Mundo de Unas Stamping Polishes
After trying out a few of my new MdU polishes, I can honestly say that they live up to the hype. I don't intend for this post to be a review of the polishes, but I just have to say that they are densely pigmented and they stamp unbelievably well. There's still the issue of the strong odor, but a little light-headedness and a few fainting spells are well worth it in my opinion. I might even place a third order after they rip out my windows and tear down a few walls for better ventilation. My doctor assures me that the headaches should go away and the blurred vision should return to normal in a day or two, when my breathing becomes regular and I can get off this ventilator. I'm kidding, of course, but seriously, you do need to use some of these polishes in a well ventilated area. Some of them are made of an acrylic resin and they suggest that you wear hazmat suits and gas masks. Ok, now I'm just being silly. The acrylic resin - true. Gas masks and hazmat suits - false. Really, how could you paint your nails when you're sweating in a big ole hazmat suit? Right? I don't want to speculate here, but I doubt that these polishes are 5 free...or 3 free... or free of any harmful chemicals that everyone is eager to avoid these days. But safety be damned. I'm all for these stamping polishes even if my nails eventually rot off... Wait, what? Let's rethink this. I still have 30 more days to go for this challenge. I'll worry about any health hazards until after that.
Looking forward to hanging out with you tomorrow. Day 2 is orange nails. I'll try to stay reasonably within the guidelines, I promise.
Ciao for now.
